No, I wasn't pregnant. I removed a
bad salivary gland today and the post-op pain is... painful. I kept my eyes opened throughout the surgery so I could watch the surgeon work (so brave right!). The glasses they gave me protected my eyes from the blinding light overhead, while the doctor's bedside manners kept me amused despite the swelling numbness and gum aches. "Ohh beautiful, what a nice incision." "Oh look at it, so cute, it's like a little grape." as I grunted my muted responses to his comments.
I didn't get a photo of my salivary gland floating in formaldehyde because of poor bunny memory to remind self to do so, but
this site gives a pretty mean summary of the surgery (warning: bloody). 4 stitches; the cut seems very big. I hope it heals quick, it's so hard to talk or eat anything :'(
