I'd just spent an entire afternoon watching spider porn, until one particular pair refused to mate after an hour and a half. And I had an epiphany.

What made me pity the two of them was not that they hadn't done it yet, but that the male just wasn't trying.

It's not about girls playing hard to get sometimes, but that the men just don't try hard enough. Of course, those who do try very hard might be verging dangerously on trying too hard. Like those psychos some of us might be all too familiar with.

p/s: I got that picture of a spider from a kid's flashcard website. It disturbs me that children are being brought up thinking that spiders have two eyes. I suppose spiders look friendlier this way huh.
